Below are questions that customers typically ask about home energy audits.

Q: How long does a Home Energy Audit take for my home?
A: The typical Energy Audit takes approximately 2 hours to perform.


Q: What is the cost of an Energy Audit?
A: You will need to contact our office for the current pricing.


Q: Do I need to be present during the Energy Audit?
A: You do not need to be present during the audit, but it would be beneficial for you to be present. The Auditor may have questions and at the end of the audit, will give a brief review of his findings.


Q: Can my family and pets be in the house during the Energy Audit?
A: YES, the tests we perform are not harmful. But please note, during the blower door test, all exterior doors and windows will need to be kept closed, and all interior doors need to be open. Also during this test, the Heat/AC and gas water heaters will need to be turned off for both safety and accurate measurments.


Q: Is there anything I have to do to prepare for the Energy Audit?
A: No, except that there can be no large holes in the walls and ceilings (as in renovations or repairs). We also ask that you do not use a wood burning fireplaces or stoves 24 hours before we arrive.


Q: When can I have an Energy Audit done?
A: You will need to contact our office for available times. We schedule Monday-Friday, usually at either 9am or 1pm.
